Chainsmokers are a multitalented band of two: Alex pall, the DJ and Andrew Taggart, the man behind the voice and producer. The duo band is well known for their hit songs like “Don’t Let Me Down” released in 2016 and ” Roses” launched in 2017. The band who are legends in the Trap, Pop Dance and electronic music topping the Billboards for years launched a new hit track titled “Closer.”
The track which features other singers like Ashley Frangipane, the 20-year-old songwriter, better recognized by her stage name Halsey, is under the “College” album. Alex Pall, the mastermind behind the rhythm, beats and sound variations of the record got recognition for being more than just a DJ behind the booth. According to an interview conducted in Interview Magazine by Mathias Rosenzweig, he has surpassed the likes of deadmau5 DJ in live performance.
However, Alex pall was never that great at the beginning of his career. He grew up with music as a DJ later working around New York; when one day at an art gallery discovered his love for dance music. In his pursuit, he started working with his current manager who later introduced him to Andrew.
The two music lovers instantly connected, constantly discussing trendy and passionate music styles. They continually pushed the limits of their capabilities improving each other while focusing on the primary target of finding their core identity in music. In the interview Alex Pall saying, “It was like, we were up all the time 9 AM to 7 PM…”
For both, music was more than just a paycheck, as it was a doorway for a deeper connection to the audience. After the song’s release, it got nominated for Best Group Performance/Best Pop Duo in the Grammy Awards. Alex pall has also gained recognition for his contribution to the group by being one of the highest paid DJs in the world totaling $45.5 million according to Forbes. Chainsmokers are facing the future with new creative ideas like Electronic dance music, (EDM) gaping preferences in music between different ages, race, culture, and gender.
