Nowadays, Neurocore uses applied neurofeedback as a method of treating their patients who are currently suffering from depression but where did this concept originate from? Well, the origins of applied neurofeedback date all the way back to the late 17th century when Luigi Galvani and Alessandro Volta, now widely considered to be the founding fathers of modern electrophysiology and bioelectric theory, became the first scientists to study the effects of applied neurofeedback on sentient test subjects. See more information about Neurocore at Linkedin.com. As part of the experiment, they would attach frog legs to an iron fence during a lightning storm and observe what happens. They later found that the frog legs would contract whenever lightning appeared in the sky and developed a hypothesis that this was due to different electrical properties. However, they were unable to provide incontrovertible evidence of this until the turn of the century. Their findings and research would eventually lead to the development of what is now known as an EEG or an electroencephalogram. Neurocore and other scientists initially used this type of technology to diagnose and treat patients who suffer from epilepsy but, nowadays, it’s more commonly used to treat those suffering from neurological disorders such as inflammation of the brain, strokes, and various type of sleeping disorders. He would later go on to document his observations in a paper he would later entitle “About the human electroencephalogram.” His theories later became well-renowned and he was well-respected within his field. Unfortunately, however, at the age of 78, he lost his battle with depression and killed himself. However, his research was eventually used to develop what is now known as a Quantitative Electroencephalogram or Qeeg for short. Neurocore now uses this technology to monitor the brainwaves of their patients in an effort to determine the cause of their depression.
